  • Our Practice is an accredited GP training practice and as such we are approved for the training of Doctors who are undertaking a career in General Practice.

These doctors are fully qualified and experienced in hospital medicine.   They carry out their training with us to prepare for a career in general practice.

We have had great success in the past with our trainees.  Dr Holland becoming a GP partner, Dr Siona Gaffney and Dr Sally Carswell choosing to join the team after completion of their training.

Nursing Staff

Nurse JILLIAN MCKENNA provides care for patients with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension.

We also have two CTAC (community treatment & care) nurses, Sam Doherty and Lesley Freeburn who are able to take bloods, undertake ECG’s, dressings and wound checks.

There are two Health Care Assistants who work under the supervision of the Practice Nurse, and they are able to take blood, undertake ECGs and simple dressings, check blood pressure and urine and undertake removal of sutures.
There is also a trained phlebotomist working under supervision of the Practice Nurse.

Attached Staff

The General Practice Clinical Pharmacists are Gillian Cooke and Carmen Chan they are contactable through the Practices normal telephone number tel: 01292 312489.  We also have a Prescribing support technician Lorraine Tait.    

The District Nursing Team can be reached on 01292 616702

Health Visitors, are Gillian Dalziel and Jenna Sim who can be reached on 01292 885501 and if they are not available there is an answer machine for you to leave a message and they will get back to you as soon as possible. They have a regular drop-in clinic on the first and third Wednesday morning of the month at Troon Clinic at Barassie Street Troon.

The Mental Health Practitioner attached to the Practice is Lisa Smillie.  You can arrange an appointment with the Mental Health Practitioner if you are between the ages of 18-64 and are not currently under the care of the Community Mental Health Team.  The Mental Health Practitioner is unable to prescribe medications.

The Physiotherapist within the Surgery is Adam Jones. You can arrange an appointment with the physiotherapist without speaking to a GP.

Practice Team

Practice Manager 
Ms Maria Bartley is responsible for the day to day running of the GP Practice. Maria will be able to help you with any administrative problems you may have with the way our Practice is run. Emma is the Assistant Practice Manager who assists Maria in her day to day tasks.

Reception Staff 
Leigh, Lindsey, Mark, Caitlin, Kirsten and Louise are here to help you. They answer the phone, deal with enquiries and take repeat prescription. Their job is very demanding so please be patient.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Fiona Long is our Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Fiona is able to deal with most acute problems, refer patients to specialists and issue prescriptions.
