The dietician runs a clinic at Portland Surgery on the third Thursday of each month. To arrange to see the dietician you will need to speak to a GP/ANP who will refer you on to the dietician, the dietician will then contact you to arrange an appointment.

A full child health service is available at the surgery. Developmental checks are as follows:

• 6/8 weeks – Health Visitor and GP

Childhood vaccinations are due at:

• 2 months 1 st primary immunisation and rotavirus
• 3 months 2 nd primary immunisation and rotavirus
• 4 months 3 rd primary immunisation
• 12 months Hib/MenC immunisation
• 13 months MMR/Pneumococcal immunisation
• 40 months Preschool booster immunisation
• Girls aged 12 to 13 years old HPV immunisation
• 13-18 years Tetanus, Diphtheria and Poliobooster

Child immunisation clinics are held at Portland Surgery on Tuesday mornings.
The nasal flu immunisation is now being offered during flu season.

Cryosurgery is carried out on a Thursday at Portland Surgery with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Fiona Long. It is important that you inform the receptionist that you wish this service when you make the appointment, in order that the necessary arrangements can be made.

Cervical smears are carried out by the Practice Nurse Jillian McKenna.

Appointments can be made with the Practice Nurse to have these checks carried out.

Dr Rowan-Perry and Dr Gaffney are our female GP Partners and are available to discuss any women’s health problems.  Dr Rowan-Perry is trained to fit the contraceptive implant and coil. Fiona Long, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner is also trained to fit the contraceptive implant.
